STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Nov. 3, 2011 - Rave Computer, Michigan's leading hardware consultant and manufacturer, today announced it has recently been awarded significant modeling and simulation contracts to provide purpose-built computers to various DoD (Department of Defense) programs. The following programs are used primarily for training our warfighters on land, sea and in the air.
VCTS (Virtual Clearance Training Suite): VCTS simulates the wide array of large and small technical devices, purpose-built mine-protected detection and clearing vehicles, and ever-evolving tactics and techniques used by the U.S. Army to combat improvised explosive devices. Rave provided 9 different 2U configurations for the suite.
AVCATT (Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer): AVCATT is a mobile, transportable, multi-station virtual simulation device designed to support unit collective and combined arms training. AVCATT provides six man modules, re-configurable to any combination of attack, reconnaissance, lift and/or cargo helicopters. Rave supplied short depth 4U servers for the Battle Master Controllers.
Javelin Program: Javelin is a man portable, fire-and-forget, antitank missile employed by dismounted infantry to defeat current and future threat armored combat vehicles. Rave provides the Basic Skills Trainer server tower for this program, which is used in a classroom setting to train the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps on Javelin capabilities.
BLCSE ( Battle Lab Collaboration Simulation Environment): The Battle Lab Collaborative Simulation Environment is a permanent, secure, scalable, complex, and distributed "toolbox" capable of supporting multiple models and constructive, virtual, and human in the loop simulations. Rave supplied 1U and short depth 2U servers to the U.S. Army for this program.
CCS (Combat Convoy Simulator): The Combat Convoy Simulator provides an immersive training environment for a range of military vehicles, including HUMMVs and MTVRs for the U.S. Marine Corps. Rave provided 2U GTX systems for the simulator.
AH-1W BCU Program: The AH-1W Super Cobra is a two-place, twin-engine, day/night marginal weather U.S. Marine Corps attack helicopter that provides en route escort for assault helicopters and their embarked forces. Rave supplied "Super Workstations" in support of this program. The computers were installed into three different U.S. Marine Corps trainers located at three different sites.
