STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (Aug 19, 2008) - To help meet customer demands for a workstation in a rackmount form factor, Rave Computer developed the new Rave/Sun UltraTM 24 Hybrid server. This redesigned 3U variation of the Sun Ultra 24 debuts today at the 2008 LandWarNet Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
"Based on customer feedback, Rave developed the Hybrid Ultra 24 to support Sun customers who required full height/length PCI cards in a rackmount format," said Doris Block-Tomlinson, Vice President of Business Development. "We modified the Sun Ultra 24 and developed a lightweight, high capacity rackmount workstation with features that are not available in Sun's current x86 product offerings."
At 23.9 pounds and a depth of 21.625 inches, this Rave/Sun Ultra 24 Hybrid base model retains the functionality of the Sun Ultra 24. The system also has four accessible high-capacity hot-swappable drives with full RAID capabilities, and is 400 Hz capable.
