Long Lifecycle Computer Consulting
Are you searching for a company that can provide a long lifecycle computer solution, versus commodity computer products with short lifecycles? Rave understands the frustration of constant unnoticed changes in bills of materials and obsolescence of parts.
We are OEM experts, our product development and engineering teams will help you identify solutions that will meet your specific requirements.
Rave understands the importance of maintaining product continuity over the life of a project. Commonality and lifecycle of components is critical to the compatibility between hardware and software as well as the impact of sparing of components for the project. The life of a project may extend for several years requiring long lifecycle components. Rave strives to use long life motherboards and embedded components in all its military grade and OEM products. Unfortunately, in the world of COTS, there are components that will need to be managed throughout the life of the project.
Rave's documentation control process ensures you'll be notified, at the earliest possible date, of any component transitions that may impact your product. In the event of a part specification change or end-of-life (EOL) notification from the manufacturer, an engineering change notice (ECN) is created. This ECN process begins by notifying our customer of transition dates as well as any last time buy opportunities. A component change must accommodate the goal that the new component meets the fit, form, and function of the original part. Moreover, Rave will evaluate compatible components and make recommendations for your review and approval. Early notification is essential so that compatibility testing can be done to resolve any conflicts and to make the transition to a new component as seamless as possible.
The high-technology industry is a fast-paced market; driven by innovation and change. For this reason, managing change has never been more important or necessary. Rave's time-tested and proven methodology for managing product obsolescence insures your system remains as viable tomorrow and it is today.
