Chassis Slide Installation - 1U Instructions
Refer to the diagrams that follow and perform these installation tasks:
Install Chassis Slides
- Each slide rail consists of 3 parts; the outer rail, ball bearing slide, and inner rail. There are two pairs of mount brackets and mounting hardware included.
Remove Inner Rail
- Remove the inner rail as you extend the rail out until the inner rail release latch clicks in place. Depress the release latch and pull the inner rail out completely.
Install Inner Rail Onto Chassis
- Position the inner rail onto the chassis sidewall so the 4 closely spaced holes in the end of the inner rail are toward the rear of the chassis. Align the first hole in the front of the inner rail with the hole closest to the front in the chassis. Install the (4) 10-32 screws provided (2 towards the front and 2 towards the rear). Repeat with the other inner rail.

Install Mount Brackets Onto Outer Rail
- Measure the distance from the front to the rear mounting rails in the cabinet. Position the mount brackets onto the outer rail so the mount brackets approximate this distance. Install the (4) 8-32 screws provided (2 on each bracket). Do not tighten. Repeat with the other set of brackets.

Install Outer Rail Into Cabinet
- The front and rear mounting rails of the cabinet have hole spaces of 5/8", 5/8", 1/2". This sequence repeats the entire length of the rail. Position the outer rail against the cabinet rails so that the ball bearing slide extends out the front of the cabinet. Align the 3 holes in the front mount bracket with any 3 holes in the front cabinet rail that have consecutively spaced 5/8" holes. Install the (4) 10-32 screws from the cabinet rails through mount brackets. Secure with 10-32 nuts. Repeat with the other outer rail. (See diagram.) Tighten all 8-32 screws to secure the front and rear mount brackets to the outer rails.

Install Chassis Into Cabinet
- Secure the cabinet to prevent movement during the system installation. Engage the inner rails on the chassis with the ball bearing slides extended out from the cabinet. Push in until the inner rail release latch clicks in place. Depress the inner rail release latch and push the chassis fully into the cabinet.
